The history of love - Nicole Krauss It's a could-have-been-a-five-star book. Not a masterpiece, yet a very good reading. Maybe I dropped the missing fifth star in retaliation as I feel like the author's driven my longing towards something I'll never be permitted to grasp. Something evaporated under my very eyes. It happens I realized long before turning the last page that I was reading "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss but the book I really wanted to read was 'The History of Love' by Leopold Gursky ... alas, as everyone who's read the former knows, the latter is both kissed by greater alluring prose and (here comes the alas part) utterly nonexisten.
